The woven Laura is a particularly clear example of O My Bag’s social commitment. The woven leather is made in collaboration with a group of women from Bilpar, a village near Kolkata, India. They can do the intricate weaving work from home and earn their own income. This collaboration creates additional work opportunities and supports the women’s financial independence.

The finished purse is made at Springfield in Kolkata, a long-standing O My Bag production partner. The facility is SA8000 certified, an international social standard that sets requirements for safe working conditions, workers’ rights, and fair employment practices, among other things. Springfield uses solar energy and organizes regular workshops for its employees.

The leather is tanned without chrome and processed to preserve its natural surface. O My Bag uses OCS- and GRS-certified cotton materials for the lining.

The brand documents where materials come from, which facilities are involved in production, and which certifications they hold. Calculated CO₂ emissions and social initiatives are also disclosed.
