The Manucurist Base S.O.S. is an intensively nourishing and strengthening base coat for severely damaged, brittle, or splitting nails. The concentrated formula with AHA, vitamin B5, vitamin C, and hexanal supports the regeneration of the nail plate, strengthens weakened nails, and can be used both as a strengthening treatment and as a base coat under Green™ nail polish.

Base S.O.S. is the most intensive of Manucurist's nourishing Green™ bases and is specifically designed for nails whose structure is already visibly damaged. If nails frequently split, break, or feel thin and stressed after gel manicures, the formula provides more targeted strengthening care than a classic base coat.

As a base coat, Base S.O.S. protects the natural nail and creates a well-groomed foundation for Green™ color polish. Between manicures, the product can also be worn alone as a strengthening treatment.

Base S.O.S. combines several active ingredients that address the different needs of damaged nails - from strength and moisture to a more even-looking nail surface.

AHA complex of glycolic, malic, and lactic acids supports renewal of the nail surface and helps rough or uneven-looking nails appear smoother and more well-groomed.
Panthenol / vitamin B5 binds moisture and supports the suppleness of the nail plate. This is particularly important for dry, brittle nails prone to splitting.
Vitamin C complements the formula with antioxidant properties and supports the protection of stressed nails from external influences.
Hexanal supports the strength of the nail plate and helps make weakened nails more resistant to breakage.
Vitamin E complements the care with antioxidant and protective properties.

The formula consists of 78% biobased ingredients. Plant-based and renewable raw materials replace a large proportion of conventional petrochemical raw materials.

Which Manucurist base coat is right for my nails?

Manucurist currently offers three different Green™ base coats for different nail needs:

Green™ Vitamin Base Coat: the versatile standard base for normal to lightly stressed nails. The KeraHCE+ formula with hexanal as well as vitamins C and E strengthens and protects the nail under color while also improving the adhesion of Green™ nail polish.
Strengthening Base Coat : specially designed for soft, thin, and very flexible nails that bend or fold easily. AHA, PHA, and silicon support strength and resilience.
Base S.O.S.: targeted intensive care for severely stressed, brittle, splitting, or already damaged nails. It is also particularly useful after demanding gel or semi-permanent manicures.

In short: Vitamin Base Coat for regular Green™ manicures, Strengthening Base Coat for soft nails, Base S.O.S. for visibly damaged and brittle nails.

Application

Apply Base S.O.S. to the clean, dry, oil-free natural nail.
As a base coat: Apply one thin coat and let it dry. Then apply two thin coats of the desired Green™ color polish and a suitable top coat.
As a treatment: Apply Base S.O.S. directly to the natural nail twice a week.
For severely stressed nails, the treatment is particularly suitable between two color polish, gel, or semi-permanent manicures.
Base S.O.S. dries naturally in the air - no UV or LED lamp is required.
Base S.O.S. is designed for the Green™ System. For a Green Flash™ manicure, use only the Green Flash™ Vitamin Base Coat intended for this purpose.
For removal, use Manucurist Nail Polish Remover Green.

What is the difference between Base S.O.S., Vitamin Base Coat, and Strengthening Base Coat?
Vitamin Base Coat is the standard base for normal to lightly stressed nails and the classic foundation of a Green™ manicure. Strengthening Base Coat is designed for soft, thin, and very flexible nails. Base S.O.S. is the more intensive care for already visibly damaged, brittle, or splitting nails.

Can I use Base S.O.S. without color polish?
Yes. Base S.O.S. can be worn alone as a strengthening nail treatment and does not have to be combined with color polish.

Can I use Base S.O.S. under Green™ nail polish?
Yes. Base S.O.S. can be used as a nourishing base coat under Manucurist's classic Green™ color polishes.

Can I use Base S.O.S. under Green Flash™?
No. The Green Flash™ system requires its own Green Flash™ Vitamin Base Coat, which is cured under an LED lamp.

How often can I use Base S.O.S. as a treatment?
Manucurist recommends using it as a treatment twice a week directly on the natural nail.

Do I need a lamp for Base S.O.S.?
No. Base S.O.S. is part of classic Green™ nail care and dries in the air.

We carefully process and package your order in our warehouse in Reutlingen. Processing usually takes within 48 hours. As soon as your order has been handed over to the shipping service provider, you will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking. After handover to DHL, the shipping time within Germany is usually 1–3 business days.

The shipping costs 4.95€; for orders over 60€, we offer free shipping within Germany.

International orders are shipped depending on the destination country and package size with DHL International or Deutsche Post Warenpost International Premium. The available shipping methods and costs are shown at checkout. Shipping time depends on the destination country, chosen shipping method, and customs clearance.

Returns: You can return unopened, unused, and undamaged products within 14 days of delivery. For returns within Germany, we provide a return label for 5.95€ upon request. Returns from abroad must be organized and paid for by the customer.

We package carefully, lovingly, and environmentally friendly. The box, filling material, and greeting card are made from recycled paper, and even the packing tape can be disposed of in the paper recycling bin.
